My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Miniature Boxer!!

Spanky is totally adorable and if you love Boxer's but want a smaller dog, then Spanky is your guy! He has all the traits of a Boxer just in a smaller package. He is a young adult dog, approximately 2 - 3 years old and weighs just 35 lbs. He is a mix of Boxer and Boston Terrier. Boston Terriers are sometimes called "miniature Boxers" themselves as they have a lot of the same characteristics as a Boxer.

Regardless of his size, Spanky has the friendly, outgoing, and playfulness of a regular sized Boxer. He is a happy dog, high-spirited, playful, curious, and energetic. Highly intelligent, Spanky learns quickly and is always eager and willing to please. Bonding very strongly with his family, Spanky will be an excellent family pet as he loves everyone and would get along well with respectful children that would enjoy playing with him.

Spanky will be very devoted to his family and all visitors are welcome. He loves attention and is very affectionate and loving. He gets along well with other family pets and would be a good choice for a refresher in obedience. With consistent training and positive reinforcement, Spanky would make an awesome companion. He loves playing with other dogs and would enjoy a backyard to play in. He would not do well left on his own for long hours each day as he needs his people and to feel that he is part of the family. These dogs are meant to be companions and do not want to be too far from their people and are happy to do whatever you would like to do.

Spanky is currently being kenneled due to a lack of foster homes and hopes that his new family will come find him soon. I am sure this adorable boy will not have to wait long!

People have only started breeding these miniature Boxer's in the last 5 years or so but as you can imagine, for anyone that likes the Boxer breed but doesn't have the space, they make an awesome compromise.

If you think Spanky would be a good fit for your family, please go to our website at http://uglymutts.com and submit an application for consideration.
