SOPHIE's Info...

I am already spayed, purebred, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.

SOPHIE's Story...
2 year old purebred female Border Collie. Black and white with adorable freckling on her legs. Unfortunately Sophie’s owner had medical problems that prevented her from caring for Sophie, so she had no choice but to turn Sophie over to rescue. Sophie is an extremely loving, high energy Border Collie. She would do best in a home without small children as she can be a bit rambunctious, older children would be fine. She also needs to be placed in an active home where she will get daily exercise. In Sophie’s previous home she was an outside only dog….so she is not completely house broken, but she is learning. Sophie is also learning how to walk nicely on a leash and has already mastered “sit”. She is crate trained and sleeps through the night quietly in her crate and rides well in her crate in the car. Sophie’s new owner needs to be prepared to continue obedience training and show Sophie how to be a part of the family. Sophie wants nothing more than to be with her owner and does her best to try to please you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

SOPHIE, a San Pedro Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in San Pedro, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in San Pedro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Pedro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Pedro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Pedro paves the way for another one to be saved.
