Spunky's Story...
Spunky is an absolutely adorable little rat terrier. He's 8 years old and was taken from a man that had shot all his cats and the dogs were next (alcohol issues.) Thankfully a neighbor intervened and he willingly gave the dogs to the rescue. Spunky is housebroken and has great manners! He is cute, funny, loving and has a lot of life and love to give. He is also crate trained and gets along great with dogs and cats and gentle children. Please give Spunky a new forever home!
Spunky is a courtesy listing for another rescue and he is not available to Mass. families. Other states are welcome to apply!
Many of our pets have been at the rescue for several months. We would desperately like to see them in nice, warm, forever homes before winter sets in! To help with this, we are offering this pooch at a reduced adoption fee of $250! Please help us get these great dogs into loving families!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Spunky, a Salem Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Salem, or seeking a Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
