Memphis's Story...
Memphis is a fabulous Basset Hound that came into rescue because sadly, a family member was allergic to dogs. He has lived in a home with his family since he was a pup, so this is a quite a transition for him. We are hoping Memphis and his little sister, Hallie can go to a home together, but understand that his may not be possible. Both dogs are very well mannered, house trained and crate trained. They have been raised with kids and are very friendly. Memphis is 6 years old, neutered, current on vaccinations and micro chipped. His adoption fee is $200.00. If you are interested in Memphis, please submit an application from our website at www.allfordogsrescue.com.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Memphis, a Portland Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Portland, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
