My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

From Molly's foster mom: Molly is such a great dog! She was pretty insecure when she got here, but she has settled in nicely. She has even been showing some interest in the resident dog. She still has no interest in the cat and keeps a respectful distance, with no chasing.

Molly was surrendered by her previous family because she was snapping at the kids. At that time, however, her ears were very matted, and she had undiagnosed Lyme disease which made her “wrists” very sore.

Since her surrender, Molly has he has been groomed and treated for the Lyme disease. I have exposed her to several children, ages four through twelve, and she has not reacted. I suspect she would be fine in a home without toddlers. Molly snapped at the vet tech when she tried to take her temperature. It seems that snapping is Molly's warning to back off. She does not bite to break the skin.

Molly is now fine in the crate for eight to nine hours, and she had free run of the house during the day all last week. She is really good in the house, and I have not come home to any surprises. She is such a snuggle bug and would love to cuddle next to someone while watching TV or reading. She will, however, stay off the furniture if you prefer.

Molly will play fetch for as long as you want! She is a bit obsessed with the tennis ball, but she eventually settles down in the yard. She would do best in a home with a fenced yard, but as long as she has a safe area where she can play ball and run free for a while each day, she will be fine. Off leash, she sticks close by and comes when called. With proper training she will be good on a short leash.

Molly is “move-in” ready. She is completely housetrained, obedient, and eager to please. She is simply an easy dog to have around. Don’t let her age fool you. She is full of energy and still very playful when the time is right.

Please note that an approved adoption application is the first step in a more thorough interview process that is designed to match each dog to exactly the right family, and that the final decision rests with the dog's case manager.

Please read the Adoption FAQ and get an Adoption Application approved before inquiring about Molly.
