My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We would like to explain that if you are looking for a perfect dog, they are rarely found in rescue. Our dogs often have unknown histories and we do our very best to evaluate each dog with kids, cats, and other dogs as well as determine how they behave in a home. It is important to understand that we have some specific criteria for each dog based on their backgrounds and input from their foster families. The purpose of these criteria is to better match each dog with an appropriate family. While a certain dog might appeal to you based on breed, size, gender or appearance, you may not match the listed criteria. Please understand that we are not trying to make adoption difficult—we are trying to make each adoption successful for the dog and the new family.

If you have children, we suggest that prior to applying for a dog, you view the website http://www.livingwithkidsanddogs.com. The information is excellent and can help you determine which dog would be right for your family.

Harley is an adorable yorkie/pomeranian mix who lost his only home due to financial circumstances. He has been very loved and cared for and he is a sweet, loving dog. Harley is 6 years and he weighs 16 pounds. Harley has lived with babies and young children. He is also great with other small or medium dogs and very safe with cats. Harley is old enough to settle down when you want him to, and young enough to be playful. He is a great snuggle buddy. Harley is house trained and instead of crating he stays in a laundry room with a baby gate when the family is gone for a work day. He is with a 501c3 rescue. His $250 adoption fee covers his full vetting. Harley is neutered, heartworm negative and on prevention, up to date on immunizations and worming, flea/tick prevention, was professionally groomed and has he has a HomeAgain microchip.

To ensure that this dog thrives in his new home and that the adoption works out for the dog and your family, these are the requirements for adoption. These criteria are not negotiable. If you do not meet these criteria, please choose another dog that will work out better for your family.

• Homeowners: Required

• Status of adopter: Mature adult

• Previous dog owning experience: Preferred

• Age of children: Toddlers and up

• Another dog in the home: He would love another dog to play with

• Cat(s) in the home: Safe with cats

• Fenced yard: Highly desirable

• Time alone on work days: Can be home alone for a work day, preferably not over 7 hours.
