Tessa's Story...
Tessa is a senior girl who is full of life. She has left her past behind her and she is ready to find her forever home. Tessa was rescued after she and six other Rottweilers were found living in deplorable condtions in a basement, where they were chained to the walls. These seven rotties were obviously been used for breeding purposes and Tessa was the oldest, and in the worst shape. She was about 15 lbs underweight, her eyes were infected and her nails overgrown. Tessa did not trust anyone when she was rescued but she has learned over the past year that people can be nice. Tessa will now demand that everyone pets her, including complete strangers. She runs up to you and does the rottie lean...if you don't respond, she will nudge your hand. She is such a character! Tessa is currently in foster care with another dog and a young child. We would love to see Tessa find her forever home where she can live out the rest of her time being pampered and loved. If you are interested in meeting our "T.T.", please send us an email at

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tessa, a Albany Rottweiler dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rottweiler for sale in Albany, or seeking a Rottweiler dog from a breeder in Albany.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Albany already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Albany breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rottweiler breeders who help with Rottweiler rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Albany paves the way for another one to be saved.
