Here's what the humans have to say about me:
**Please note: we do not have a physical location, we are supported by a network of wonderful foster homes that are spread throughout New England. A dog will need to be visited by a prospective adopter in the foster home where they are feeling safe and comfortable.**
Brownie is such a fun dog! Brownie is a unique mix of Labrador Retriever and Redbone Coonhound and is two years old. He is an active dog who will be a great walking and hiking companion. We love his furrowed brow, which gives him an endearingly wise look. Brownie is a playful dog who enjoys daily romps in the shelter yard. He is housebroken and is a bright dog who should be easy to train. He will bow for attention, too. Brownie is loving and affectionate and enjoys belly rubs and having his ears scratched. We feel that Brownie would be better suited to a home with older children.
Brownie's foster in the south has this to say: "He knows his name! Brownie has a worried look but is anything but that! He is a very alert and smart cuddly bear of a dog. He loves all people and other dogs. I think his look is of intense inquisitiveness - he looks to me like he is trying to figure out what humas are up to.
Brownie has no bad habits - he is housetraind, shows no aggressive behavior, is electric fence trained and is doggy door trained. He eats, drinks and sleeps with other dogs.
He wants to be with people and could be cuddled and loved on for hours!
Brownie would be a great addition to any household. He would do best walking with a harness since he is strong. and can get out of a collar attached to a leash.
A wonderful dog!"
Brownie is very sweet and easy to fall in love with. He is housetrained, is learning to sit for greetings and affection, gets along beautifully with other dogs and with humans. He loves to be petted and to go for rides in the car. Brownie is strong but walks nicely on an easy walker harness. He is a bit of a bull in a china shop so probably is not ready to hang out with small children but would love to have some older children and adults to lavish affection on him.
Brownie is now in Maine! Please stay tuned for updates from his foster family.
