My story

Hello folks! I am Ollie, a 4-5 year old Pittie bull who has had a pretty sad life. I have spent my life tied out in a yard with the other "junk." I was skin & bones when I first entered the shelter. Sadly, I tested positive for heartworm & now am left to sit in the shelter while I am treated for my heartworm. While life in the shelter is a step up compared to the life I had known, it is also not the ideal place to be for this type of medical treatment. If you know anything about heartworm treatment, the injections are pretty painful & I must stay quiet and sedate for the duration of the treatment, which can last a few months. I surely hope to find a foster home where I can recuperate in a peaceful, relaxing environment. In spite of everything I have been through, I want nothing more than to be someone's loyal companion. Please show me what life should be like; never feeling hungry, alone, cold, scared, or sick. If you have it in your heart to foster or adopt me, my friends at LAPH will cover all medical costs & other costs to keep me. Please give me the opportunity for a real life, the way a dog should live. I bare physical scars from my past life, however when you look into my soulful eyes, you will see that my heart is as pure & innocent as any loving dog's should be. I dream that one day my human will sing me these words, “Just let me try & I will be good to you. Just let me try and I will be there for you. I’ll show you why you’re so much more than good enough.”
