Mandy's Story...
Mandy came into our rescue from one of our local shelters. She and her sister were dumped in the country, her sister was hit by a car, but the car didn't even stop! Her sister had to be PTS because of a broken leg that they think happened a week or so before they found the two puppies. Both puppies had fleas and ticks all over them, and became anemic, run down and scared. When I took Mandy (that's what we named her) to the vets, the vet didn't think she would make it, but I had to try. We put her on two medications and two different shots that I had to give her twice a day. As soon as I got her home, I put her in the tub and give her a medicated bath. Then I sat and held her for a couple of hours while I literally picked somewhere around 30 TICKS (not fleas) off of her. Then I took her over to the vets and while waiting on the vet to come in I picked about 10-15 more ticks off her. I only see about 1-2 ticks a year, and with her having that many, they caused her to become very sickly. She is much better now thank God, and I have become very attached to her. Mandy will have to go to a really good home here in Indiana where we can still ck on her from time to time. Mandy's adoption fee is $500 Mandy is going to be a really big German Shepherd.
Because of all the problems we have had with adoptors that have little children, Puppy Love Rescue will no longer adopt any of our puppies out to families with children under the age of seven.
Puppy Love Rescue works very hard to find these little angels wonderful homes. Puppies are very expensive to take care of, and we receive no outside funding,so if you'd like to help, please give us a call. Please don't breed or buy while shelter puppies die- Adopt a shelter puppy today, these puppies need you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mandy, a Southport German Shepherd Dog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Southport, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog puppy from a breeder in Southport.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Southport already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Southport breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Southport paves the way for another one to be saved.
