Bitsy Lu's Story...
location: Jacksonville, FL
Bitsy Lu is ready for you! This 8 to 9 year old little girl is a sweet little snuggle-butt who's looking for her FURever home! Bitsy was in an accident and lost her right front leg before going into the shelter, but she'd never let you guess that she's a "tripod"! She's happy running around the yard, exploring up and down stairs, or even snuggling up with you. Bitsy is crate trained, but doesn't like being home alone for more than a few hours. She enjoys car rides and snuggling up with a good book. Bitsy Lu is very well behaved, but cautious around younger children; if they let her smell them first she loves a good scratch - especially behind her great big ears! This little lady is a mere 9 pounds, so everyone seems big to her. She's happy to be carried around, and is truly a lap dog, loving nothing more than to fall asleep in your lap. Bitsy is great at whining to make sure you know she has to go out to do her business. She gets along with other dogs, but she is a bit shy. Here is a link to

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bitsy Lu, a Jacksonville Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Jacksonville, or seeking a Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Jacksonville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jacksonville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jacksonville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jacksonville paves the way for another one to be saved.
