Austin's Story...
THIS INFORMATION IS POSTED AS A COURTESY ONLY; THIS IS A PRIVATE PLACEMENT. Austin, a 2-year-old dachshund/lab mix, is living temporarily with a household that took him in when he proved to be a bit more than his former family could handle (his behaviors including some resource guarding). In his temporary home Austin is getting along great with multiple other dogs and several cats. Austin weighs 25 pounds, is up to date on all vaccinations and is also neutered. He walks very well on leash and enjoys car rides. Austin needs owners that are experienced and confident.  He is crate trained and housebroken. He is not obedience trained (sit, down, etc.) but responds well to corrections of inappropriate behavior. PLEASE E-MAIL INQUIRIES ABOUT AUSTIN TO HIS CURRENT CARETAKER: PFMorneault@aol.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Austin, a Naugatuck Dachshund/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund/Labrador Retriever for sale in Naugatuck, or seeking a Dachshund/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Naugatuck.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Naugatuck already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Naugatuck breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Dachshund/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Naugatuck paves the way for another one to be saved.
