My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kristen is a total companion dog. She loves people of all ages, enjoys attention and affection from everyone and likes to be wherever her person is. She is a young dog approximately a year old with beautiful white teeth. She still has some puppy traits and enjoys her toys and playthings. She would do well in just about any environment. She is just over 10 lbs, is intelligent, affectionate and loyal.

In her foster home Kristen has proven to be a wonderful companion and will follow her foster mom from room to room, lying quietly at her feet while her foster mom works on the computer or does the dishes. She loves to cuddle and is very affectionate. She is quiet in the home and rarely barks unless there is a good reason. At the dog park she gets along well with dogs of any size and enjoys getting attention from strangers. She walks very nicely on leash and is currently learning basic commands.

Kristen is crated in her foster home for approximately 6 hours a day. She does not like being crated but finally relaxed once she was placed in a larger Veri-kennel (plastic) with blankets and her toys. She has never messed in her crate and although she is very excited to see you when you get home, she goes straight outside to do her business. She is house trained but has not learned how to let you know so you must be alert and put her out frequently. If there is another dog in the home she will follow their cues and just goes out when they do.

On her walks Kristen has shown herself to be friendly with anyone she meets. She is not shy of strangers and will go right up to them for attention and pets. She was in very poor condition when she came into our care and was very matted and under weight. She has been eating great and is now putting the weight back on and her hair is growing in nicely. She will need someone that is willing to spend time brushing her as once her coat has totally filled out it will be long and silky.

Kristen is an intelligent little dog that learns quickly. She is friendly with everyone and an excellent little companion. She is very loveable and loving and exceptionally loyal. She would never run away from her family and you could take her anywhere without concern. Although she is a small dog she is still happiest when she gets out for regular exercise and enjoys her walks and playtimes with other dogs.
