Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello! I am a sweet, 4 year old Chihuahua Corgi mix. My name is Sophie and I weigh 12 lbs. I am a timid little girl but I warm up and bond very quickly. When I get to know you my face will light up when I see you and I promise that I will make you feel you are the best person in the world (which of course I will think you are)!
I appreciate it when people to approach me quietly and gently. I am a little more timid of men than women but I like men well enough. Some children make me feel nervous so it would be better if there are only adults and children over 12 years old in my immediate family. I have lived with both cats and dogs and we got along fine.
I haven’t had much experience walking on a leash but I am catching on quickly since coming to MaxFund. The kind volunteers are taking me on walks using a harness with a leash and it is becoming really fun! I especially like it when someone crouches down in front of me and I can run up to them and get petted! I very much enjoy playtime and tug-a-war with a soft toy is a good game too. I suffer from a hip condition so I can’t run up and down stairs or make any high jumps (the folks at MaxFund can tell you more about what physical limits I have).
I am paper trained so I am housetrained but, of course, not yet to use an outside bathroom. However, I am sure I could learn. I used to sleep with my person on their bed and I have not spent much time in a crate (kennel). I get very attached to my special humans and I can be quite protective of them. I bark when I hear intruders just so they know they have a dog to deal with should they pose any threat!
I miss my person and I am looking forward to having a forever family so I can love and cuddle them. Please don’t hesitate to come by and meet me. Just maybe you’ll want to take me home, which is of course is my choice!
