My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Shoshana was rescued from the Ionia County Animal Shelter in April of 2011. A good Samaritan had taken her in while she was pregnant and kept her until her kittens reached 4 weeks old. By that time the responsibility of caring for a mom plus 5 kittens was too much so they surrendered the whole group to ICAS. County shelters are always overwhelmed and most cats gets euthanized for lack of space. We didn't want that to happen and we had room in our adoption program so we took them. They had upper respiratory infections and diarrhea, but we got them all healthy and adopted out. Well, except for mom. This is usually the case when we rescue a mom and kittens. Early season kittens find homes quickly but the moms get left behind. Since Shoshana has been spayed she is so happy and full of life. She is a young girl herself and now relieved of the burden of kittens, she would love to find her own family to baby her! She is a beautiful silver tabby which is rare, and she has sparkling green eyes.

Our Adoptable Kittens ARE NOT WILD. We take them from the streets at a young age, and most are feral at the time of rescue. However we spend many hours taming, socializing, and acclimating them to indoor life as a pet cat. They are currently friendly, healthy, and playful kittens who are just waiting for their special someone to take them home.

All of our kittens are spayed or neutered, tested for FeLV/FIV, vaccinated against Distemper, and treated for fleas and other parasites.

If you are interested in adopting one of our kittens, please download an Adoption Application from our website at www.focusonferals.org, and email it to crazyforferals@yahoo.com, or mail it to PO Box is 372, Lowell MI 49331 Our adoption fee is $85 for one kitten and $125 for two.
