Ponca's Info...

I am up to date with shots and good with dogs.

Ponca's Story...
Ponca is a sweetheart with lots of personality! He was born in December of 2009. He'll be a play pal, walking buddy and watch dog. He will need a fenced exercise area of appropriate size.
Besides regular shots, he's de-wormed and vaccinated for bordatella. Note that all dogs are neutered/spayed before release.

About Humane Society of Cherokee County

About Our Rescue Group...

We are caring volunteers who are committed to fulfilling the missions of HSCC:
To aid and protect stray, abandoned, abused and neglected animals–including but not limited to rescue, rehabilitation, spaying and neutering, shelter and foster care, adoption.
To aid in spaying and neutering companion animals–including but not limited to financial assistance for low-income owners.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We show shelter animals on Saturdays from 10:00 to noon, and on other days by appointment. We show foster animals by appointment at an agreed-upon time and place. Adoptathons elsewhere are advertised in advance.
Contact us by email or phone. (Our answering machine is regularly checked. Leave your name, number and short message, speaking slowly & clearly.)

Our Adoption Process...

The process includes a one-page application, one-page contract, and very reasonable adoption fee.

We do our best to place pets in LOVING, RESPONSIBLE, mutually appropriate homes. We prefer to adopt within "easy driving distance" of Tahlequah OK, but will occasionally make an exception. The prospective adopter must meet the animal in order to be considered. We do not ship animals.
