My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

4 yr old Mollie’s family was another victim of the economy and could no longer keep her so she ended up in a Central CA shelter.

Mollie needs to have a home with a calm, sociable dachshund brother or two to take her behavior cues from. She is fearful of meeting new people if she doesn't have friendly, outgoing doxies to observe and emulate. Now that Mollie is living with a gang of affectionate foster dachshunds, she greets visitors very nicely. Also, if Mollie is an only dog, she will try and dig out of a yard when left alone. Mollie would also like to request that her future canine brother be playful! Some young rambunctious doxies have recently come into Mollie's foster home and we discovered that Mollie loves to play!

Mollie goes on off leash beach outings with a group of dogs of all sizes and is good with them all. She also loves her walks.

Mollie is perfectly potty trained. She hasn’t had one accident since she arrived at her foster home (she knew how to use the doggy door immediately).

A home that would get Mollie out and about to see more of the world would be terrific. She might never be a doxie that will be comfortable with total strangers on the street petting her, but she is extremely loving with those she knows. She will do best in a home with older children (teens and up) or in an adults only home.

Mollie is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped and is ready for a great new home.
