Plenty of my friends are looking

Pogo's Info...

I am already neutered, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Pogo's Story...
Here is sweet, little Pogo. Pogo is a purebred, miniature schnauzer, about 1-1 1/2 years old, who was turned into a high-kill facility with a severely broken hind leg. We tried to save the leg but it wouldn't heal. Pogo had the leg amputated but it hasn't slowed him down one bit. He has such a wonderful personality and gets by just fine with 3 legs. Pogo is crate trained and working on housebreaking. He will be joining us at the Best Friends Super Adoption Event at the Westchester County Center in White Plains, NY on June 4th and June 5th. If you’re interested in adopting Pogo, or any of our other furbabies, we highly recommend that you fill out an adoption application for preapproval. This way you are guaranteed to take your furbaby home on Saturday. Please contact Jolene at Jolene@friendswithfourpaws.org for an application.

Our adoption fees are based on the age of the dog and range from $250 to $500. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, 30 days of pet insurance, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses.

All of our dogs are rescued from the Oklahoma City Animal Shelter, which is a high volume, high kill facility. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where it is kept for a minimum of 2 weeks for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. After the 2 week quarantine time they are spayed/neutered and fully vetted. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!

Pogo, a Astoria Miniature Schnauzer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Miniature Schnauzer for sale in Astoria, or seeking a Miniature Schnauzer dog from a breeder in Astoria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Astoria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Astoria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Miniature Schnauzer breeders who help with Miniature Schnauzer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Astoria paves the way for another one to be saved.
