My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If an uncontrollable wigglebutt warms your heart, then you are in for a treat! Darling Sis is a recent WBCR addition and what an adorable, happy, glass-half-full kinda girl she is. Left outside and mostly neglected by her former family in a small Idaho town, Sis was then surrendered to the local shelter when they moved. Their loss is going to be some lucky adopter’s gain cause this beautiful girl is a real treasure!!

Friendly, well-adjusted, roll with the punches and up for anything, Sis is probably about 2 years old and likely a BC/Aussie mix. She is a lovely rough coat tricolor, about 45 pounds, with a very classic old school farm collie look about her. This social girl loves people of all kinds and adores human attention and companionship. She likes nothing better than being by her people’s side, whatever it is they are doing, even if it’s just sleeping by their feet. Given her sweet and tolerant nature, we think she’d make a great dog for a family with kids. She’s equally sociable with her fellow canines, gets along well with other dogs, and is one heck of a playful girl!! This agreeable lass is also good with cats. Sis isn’t showing too much herding instinct, but she is starting to discover toys. She’s a fairly high energy girl who will need a good chunk of exercise daily to be
happiest, and enjoys going for walks and hikes, playtime with other dogs, hanging out with her family - there’s not much this girl doesn’t like! Dog parks, dog sports, active outdoor sidekick, Sis could likely fit the bill for any of these things.

This girl is as sensitive as she is sunny, and smart as the dickens to boot. Although it is likely she didn’t have a smidge of training in her former home, Sis is already making up for lost time. When she first came to her foster home she was not very comfortable being inside - walking into a room she was very cautious, tiptoeing around as if something was going to jump out from behind the door! But it did not take her long to figure out all about the luxuries of being inside…and she’s fast learning about indoor doggy manners too. She’s already housetrained and crates quietly, although doesn’t always load up willingly just yet. Sis walks pretty well on leash, shows off leash-potential, and is hard at work learning the basics in her foster home. Given her past, where she was left unsupervised and understimulated all day every day, Sis discovered the not so great habit of chasing cars (and probably livestock), so will need adopters willing to work on changing this tendency. She will also definitely benefit from adopters committed to more manners training in general. However, with her sensitive, submissive nature and love of food, Sis will be a quick study and is the perfect candidate for using gentle, positive, and reward-based methods. Although she’s not been out in the world all that much she is level-headed and quick to gain confidence in new situations; with some more socializing and exposure to all the world has to offer, she will no doubt be an all-round confident canine companion in no time!!

Sis is super adaptable and suitable to a lot of different kinds of homes. As long as she lives with people who make her a central part of the family and who can provide for her lots of love and exercise, she is going to thrive!! Sis is a wonderful young girl who deserves nothing more than to share her happiness with a family that appreciates her lovely nature. Whoever takes home this girl will be getting a real prize!

Sis is spayed, fully vetted and living in a loving foster home near Jackson, WY.
