Josie's Story...
Josie came to us after her stay in animal control. Why no one looked for her is amazing. She's a youngster, about 1 year old and only weighs about 9 lbs. She's full of life and energy, loves to play with a tennis ball and go for long walks. This world is a big game to her and she wants to see it all. She's learning house rules and does fine with the cat and other dogs. She's currently doing well in her foster home.

She has a rat terrier head and body, but a basenji tail. It curls up tightly on her back. Josie loves life. If you would like to meet this beauty, give us a call and we'll set up a time for you to meet her.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Josie, a Columbia Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rat Terrier for sale in Columbia, or seeking a Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Columbia.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Columbia already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Columbia breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rat Terrier breeders who help with Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Columbia paves the way for another one to be saved.
