Twister is a pit bull/heeler mix and a survivor of the April storms, she showed up on one of our volunteers' doorstep the night of the tornadoes and was never re-claimed by her people. She is approximately 8 months old and 40 pounds of pure love and energy. Twister is a a happy outgoing pup who has "well controlled" energy. She loves to play with her family, other dogs and her toys (ropes are a big favorite) but she also settles down very nicely. Twister loves to be petted, likes to give kisses and would be a lap dog if you would let her. When the play has been sufficient Twister can relax happily along with her family/canine playmates. She loves to play fetch, tug and chase and would do well in an active home with children and other dogs. Twister is kennel trained and almost house broken as long as she is kept on a schedule. She knows her basic sit, stay and lay down commands but needs some practice. She loves to go for walks and hikes and does well on a leash but still needs some practice. She is still has a lot of puppy in her and loves to chew, she will definitely need plenty of bones and toys to keep her busy. She loves to sleep in her kennel and likes to nap in it with the door open when she is tired. Currently she is in a foster home with 4 other foster dogs and 5 foster cats. Twister absolutely adores children of all ages and she will make some lucky family a welcome additional to their family. Interested in adoption?
