Millicent's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, purebred, a special needs pet, and up to date with shots.

Millicent's Story...
Millicent came to AZBHR when the family who took her in, after the tragic death of her original owner, could no longer care for her. She is a sweet, quiet, dignified senior --8 or 9 years--who is showing the signs of getting older, including some arthritis and cataracts that do not interfere with her daily life.. She has multiple other medical problems that are under evaluation and treatment, so she will be in foster until she is feeling better. Her favorite activity for now is to "sing" when the foster sisters are barking, or when foster mom asks her to.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Millicent, a Phoenix Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Phoenix, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Phoenix.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Phoenix already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Phoenix breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Phoenix paves the way for another one to be saved.
