My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This is Duncan ….

Dandie Dinmont Terrier … he is a 2 year old mix breed, and he is just wonderful !!

Duncan, DUNKIN, Dudley, Doolittle, Doodle … they all fit him he is a character. Duncan is a medium size dog with non to minimal shedding coat, he weighs 30 pounds (definitely could use weight watchers), he is neutered and housetrained, he will stay in the crate if he has too but far too much of his young life was in the crate (his family left him crated for extended periods) he does not prefer it, Duncan is healthy and up to date on all vaccines.

He LOVES to ball, is soooo enthusiastic about swimming we have to be sure to shut the door when in the bath …he will jump right in, he likes to fetch. Duncan has been fostered in a home with children and dogs of all sizes. He is way too interested in our bird !! (like maybe a lunch snack kinda interested) Duncan knows his basic obedience and can walk well on leash if you don’t engage in his leash tug a war game …. He loves to play tug a war. Duncan “talks” a lot !! When your playing and when you get home he has a whole repertoire of things to growl out … he will bark when there is a reason. Doorbells, new people arriving, fireworks (just found this out). He has a doggie door and fenced yard here at foster but that is not a requirement to adopt.

Duncan’s by far favorite thing is being with his person, he loves to cuddle at your feet when you are working, cuddle on the couch when you relax, follow you around the yard when you walk and MOST of all cuddle up right next to you in bed !! He is animated and loving and will make you an excellent companion, he is good in the car and is

We would love to see Duncan join a home with another dog to play and access to occasional swimming as he loves it so. We would prefer no children under 12 as he is a “herder” and when the little ones run and scream he gets busy trying to corral them. Duncan is well behaved and patient with children but probably not a good match for a house full of little ones. We would like to see him in a family that has time for him as his last family was really never home and his existence was quite lonely.

If you think you have the time and love to invest to share your home and family with a wonderful guy …. Please follow the link to the online application. We will be in touch as soon as possible … www.northstarplacement.petfinder.com
