My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Zeus has come a long way from the scrawny boy that lived outside, chained to a doghouse. He weighs about 70 pounds now and is in excellent health. He is fully house trained, sits for food (treats and meals) and knows he’s not allowed on the furniture (although he sneaks on one couch occasionally). Zeus does well on leash (no formal obedience training) but does get a bit excited when he sees other dogs (or deer, squirrels, etc.). He does well meeting people (including little ones) when properly introduced. He is a little reserved with strangers and takes some time to check them out. Zeus needs a fenced yard although we get by with lots of walking (at least two miles per day). He would be at his best as an only dog (he thrives on attention) although he’d probably be ok with a more passive dog if introduced slowly. Better to not be with small children, while he has been fine meeting my grandsons (5 and 6) and neighborhood kids, Zeus plays hard and doesn’t know his own strength. Dog knowing kids over 12 should be fine. Zeus would benefit from obedience training in his new forever home. He’s a very bright boy and when you have his trust, he’s very anxious to please. Zeus will be a great addition to his new family.
