My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Clarice came from a rough situation. She was supposed to be a mouser and was living in a barn. She was believed to be semi-feral. People there didn't like her (for some reason having nothing to do with her) and they treated her badly which made her defensive and untrusting. Making things harder was the presence of dogs which would chase her and make her run for her life. One got her by the tail once but she escaped. Another time, she was trapped up a tree for some time before the dogs were called off. No wonder she appeared to be semi-feral -- she was constantly scared. A couple of people noticed that when she was treated kindly, she craved attention. The owner was happy to be rid of her so they brought her to us. Wherever the owner got poor Clarice, she was once a house pet who is eager and grateful for love once she realizes she can trust you. Clarice was settled into a new-cat cage at the shelter and when she understood after a couple of days that she really was among friends now, you couldn't meet a nicer cat! She greeted a volunteer with soft murmurs (like little beeps) and happily wove back and forth in front of the volunteer, purring and luxuriating in the attention. She was completely gentle and loving. Clarice deserves a home where she can feel safe and loved at last.

Clarice was born around the middle of 2005.
