Sam's Story...
Hello, Im Sam. I came to FFL by way of the city animal pound (BARC) when a BARC volunteer got me out as a tiny kitten before anything bad could happen to me. I am lucky to be here happy and healthy ! Im about 5 months old now and have been neutered and completely vetted through FFL.

I am a friendly guy and enjoy drinking from the faucet. I don't know what it is about that trickling stream that fascinates me but the water from the faucet tastes so much better than water in my bowl ! My extremely rough beginning has made me really grateful for attention and not ruffled easily by much. I love the little stick toy you see me with here and am a really good aim at grabbing it. Let's play a round !

See you soon--
Sam

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sam, a Houston Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Houston, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
