I am already neutered, up to date with shots, not good with kids, and good with dogs.

ZIGGY's Story...
Calling all Yorkie Lovers out there ...Hi there - it's me, Ziggy (or Zigs for short)! I am a 6 yr old, 12 lb Yorkie boy who is looking for an experienced Yorkie home. I need someone who understands Yorkies - because you know we're a special breed all our own!

I was found as a stray and turned over to Puppy Pals. The vet tells me and PPR that I'm in good physical shape and healthy. Of course, I'm neutered and have received all my shots and been fecal/heartworm tested negative. I also got a dental cleaning and some teeth removed, and LOVE showing off my semi-fresh breath with lick-kisses if you try to kiss me!

I love the outdoors and LOVE to take long walks. If you get my harness out, I'm leaping into it! I'm not an "escape artist"; I'm happy exploring my fenced-in backyard, but love to come trotting over when you call my name. I get along just fine with the dogs on the other side of the fence too. I am perfectly crate trained and will happily spend the night in there with no incidents. I have done WONDERFULLY with my potty training and have not even tried to mark once in my foster mom's house! I get along great with the other male and female dogs here, but my foster mom thinks I could do just fine as a only dog too. So far, I'm just not too interested in playing with the other dogs; we all just coexist happily.

I really haven't been used to being snuggled and loved on, so I'm gradually getting used to my foster mom and dad doing that (and they do it ALOT!) My initial reaction is to give a little growl but I don't mean to scare you off, I'm just trying to talk to you! The dog trainer said I was "vocalizing"!

I do REALLLY like my play toys and chew treats. The only problem with this is I like them SO much I don't really like to let my foster mom take them from me (which still seems pretty ME!) But, my foster mom has really been working hard to help me understand that it's okay to give it up because it doesn't mean the treat or toy is gone for good. Even though I'm protective of my treats and toys, I'm perfectly fine allowing you to handle my feeding time is easy! With more time, my foster mom feels confident that I will become more comfortable with my people. I'm just hoping someone will give me that chance to warm up and get comfortable and be a SUPER Yorkie!

I do trust my foster mom enough to jump on up and enjoy sitting in her lap when she tells me it's ok. I also like to be held but may growl a little when being picked up. BUT... once I'm in your arms, I'm super comfy! I'm not a big barker, but when I'm excited (especially when you say "Outside!"), I tend to let out a low excited bark. But that's about it... I don't care to bark at just anything. My foster mom thinks it's pretty cute when I wiggle on my back on the carpet making funny noises, scratching my back. I also LOVE to go for car rides and feel the wind in my face!

A home with children over 10 yrs. old would be A-OK! (So long as they are good to me!) I am a very good-looking and sporty fella who needs someone who understands me and will love and have patience with me. I promise to LOVE you right back!

Since it is quite common for Yorkies to live to be 15 years of age, would you be willing to give me a wonderful life with you for the next 9-10+ years??

If you might be interested in Ziggy - please complete an application to determine if you might be a good match for him.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

ZIGGY, a Beavercreek Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier for sale in Beavercreek, or seeking a Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier dog from a breeder in Beavercreek.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Beavercreek already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Beavercreek breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier breeders who help with Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Beavercreek paves the way for another one to be saved.
