Lettuce's Story...
Meet Little Miss Lettuce. She's a beautiful puppy that takes a few minutes to warm up to strangers. Then, she's all about the squeeky toys! These 7 babies were found abandoned with their mama, a collie/sheltie mix. The babies were in a big tupperware container. A neighbor saw a man drive by with two mama dogs and the big container and later found them and a total of 18 puppies dumped near their home. The babies were only 3 weeks old at the time but now they are 8 weeks old and ready for their new homes on July 2nd! Because they are so young, they will not be spayed or neutered before coming to their new homes. Their new family will receive a 50$ rebate when they have it done at 6 months of age and a low cost voucher will be provided in their medical packet. Their mama's name is Cheeseburger and you can see her on the site for adoption too!

Our dogs are mainly fostered in TN at our parent rescues . We have many wonderful dogs looking for homes! All of them are completely vetted and neutered/spayed (if age appropriate) and on heartworm protection. All of them come with complete medical records. Their adoption fee of $425 covers their complete age appropriate vetting and heartworm preventative as well as their transportation to your area.

Our rescue doesn't have an actual shelter building in the Maine area. Due to this it is not possible to meet them prior to their adoption. Our dogs are brought up to their new owners weekly! We have a 14 day no questions asked money back guarantee and the dog can be returned to us if things don't work out. We try hard to get good matches in our homes so that everyone has a happy life together! To date we have placed over a thousand dogs and puppies in loving homes from Tennessee clear up to Canada!
We have many, many, references of happy adopters up in your area that can fill you in on their experience. Just email and we can pass along that information for your convenience.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lettuce, a Portland Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Collie puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Collie for sale in Portland, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Collie puppy from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Collie breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
