Ruff Ruff! My name is Darcy
|Breed:||Collie/Akita Mix||Color:||White - With Brown Or Chocolate||Age:||Adult|
|Size:||Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)||Sex:||Female|
I am already spayed, housetrained, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and not good with cats.
Top of the morning to you! I'm Darcy, a 4 to 4 1/2 year old, 80 pound, collie mixed with ??? probably either akita or shepherd. I would be a fun dog on which to get a DNA test, to find out for sure. But no matter the mix, I am one gorgeous, eye-catching dog!
I came from the local pound where I was to be killed because I did not seem to like women and would growl when a women even walked by my cage. But some rescue person decided to save me! I actually cheated death again as I was very sick (weighed only 49 pounds) and needed a long time and many vet visits to recuperate. But that was in my past life and I am very healthy now!
I am being fostered by a women and have several women friends, so that part of my life is also in the past and you know how us canines are – we live in the present! But it would be good if you had some dog experience before adopting me. I get along with most other dogs and currently live with some, but would be fine as an only dog.
I am playful and love my stuffed animals. I enjoy walks, riding in cars and just hanging out with you. I am loyal and loving and well worth your time and attention. I am spayed, current on shots, micro chipped and very housebroken. My adoption donation is $200. Please call Tuffie's Animal Rescue at (623) 587-9119 or (925) 209-6480 to meet me or email Diane@TARescue.com.

Rescue Group Info...
We are a small, non-profit group of dedicated volunteers who rescue dogs and cats that are going to be euthanized usually for lack of space. We have taken many animals that have been considered "unadoptable" and have found them wonderful homes with families that couldn't imagine life without them! Our motto is "saving one pet won't change the world, but how the world will change for that one pet" and the person or family that adopts it. We operate through foster families. We received our 501(c)3 status in 2005, beginning in Pleasanton, CA and then moving to Phoenix, AZ. We have animals fostered in both places, so please don't let distance stop you form inquiring about a pet that interests you. One of our foster "moms" has been rescuing horses, so we hope to be listing those for adoption soon, too. If you are interested in volunteering or donating money or other items, please don't hesitate to call or email. We will always try to accomadate you or point you in the right direction.
We currently hold Adoption Fairs every other Saturday at Amazon Aquariums and Pets in the shopping center on the southeast corner of 43rd Avenue and Thunderbird between 1pm and 4pm. Call the store at (602) 978-5287 to confirm. We are a foster based group and are also very willing to meet you at other times and places that can be mutually arranged.
Generally adoption donations are $250 for small dogs and puppies and $200 for bigger dogs, kittens are $100 and cats are $75. There are exceptions and each pet's adoption donation is usually listed in its bio. Our pets are usually fixed, current on shots and micro chipped. We have a pre-adoption form for you to fill out and often do home visits. We strive to make it the perfect match, but we ALWAYS want the pet returned if it doesn't work out. Adoption donations are refunded within the first two weeks minus $50, if you need to return your pet.
Greater Phoenix area and the East Bay of san Francisco, too! We started in northern CA and still make trips to that area and have adopted animals and foster families in both areas!
