With a rich layer of eyeliner circling both eyes, it is easy to see how Maybelline got her name. This gorgeous girl has those big brown hound dog eyes that just make your heart melt. When she looks up at you with those eyes and that big smile (yes...she really does smile!) it is simply irresistable. For some reason, this lovely lady ended up on death row at a kill shelter and was literally pulled off the euthanasia list. She was brought in as a stray, and we simply don't know how she didn't have anyone come and claim her.
On top of having looks, this girl has got brains and charm too! She doesn't jump on you, instead she sits patiently for love and attention. She also gets along great with other dogs, as well as cats and children. She walks very well on a leash, and is crate-trained. We are pretty sure she is housebroken, but we haven't had her in foster care long enough to say with 100% certainty.
The perfect day for Maybelline, or "Miss Maybel" as she is affectionately known, involves getting up and going for a nice stroll around the block. Then, she is perfectly content to snoozing on the couch all day. Throw in frequent belly rubs and she is in heaven! Her calm and laid-back temperament makes her a great addition to just about any household.
