My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The Rat Terrier is an intelligent, alert and loving dog. They are very inquisitive and lively. They are very affectionate and are excellent choices for someone that wants an energetic little dog. They are great with children and make wonderful family companions. These babies are just 9 weeks old and ready to find their new families. There are 3 girls and one boy - all have their vaccinations to date and have been dewormed. These babies will be 8 - 14 inches as adults and will weigh 6 - 8 lbs.

Rat Terriers are often said to be the best of the Terrier breed. They are very playful, affectionate and fun little dogs. They are for the most part friendly with everyone including strangers and when raised with children they make an ideal child's companion. They are not yappers. Rat Terriers are eager to please, respond, and pick up on training faster than most other dogs. They are a very well mannered, well rounded dog. They are very easy to train and very eager to learn and please their owner.

These dogs love to go with you and to do whatever you do. They are very good swimmers, not bashful or afraid, and have no problem with water. They are very easy going and adjust to new things very quickly. They make excellent family pets and wonderful little companions.

Rat Terriers will do okay in an apartment as long as they get 20 - 30 minutes of exercise each day. They are active indoors and do best with a small to medium yard to play in. They love to be inside the house and outside to play. They enjoy intelligent toys, and challenging games and outdoor romps. They are very easy to care for and a good brushing now and then to remove dead hair is all they need.

If you think these darling babies might be the right choice for your situation, please go to our website at uglymutts.com and submit an application for consideration. We will have more pictures to come.
