My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Finn is a sensitive little dog that thrives on affection and being with his people. He is a hardy little guy, proud and intelligent. He can be nervous in new situations but is relaxed, happy and playful in his own home. Finn is approximately 2 years old and weighs just 14 lbs.

Finn is a gentle dog that is also alert, very intelligent, well mannered and enthusiastic. He is an active little dog that would enjoy being a jogging, running, hiking companion or even having a small yard to romp around in. He is fairly active in the home but would still enjoy a nice daily walk. He did not do well in the shelter but since coming into foster care he is finding his own and showing himself to be a playful, affectionate and intelligent pet.

Finn is currently being fostered in a home with several large dogs, cats and other animals. He is great with all the other pets but does prefer human companionship. He would be fine as a second dog but would be in heaven as an only dog and getting all the attention for himself. Although he does make friends with strangers fairly easily, his preference is always for his own family. He is fine with children of all ages but we would prefer that he go to a home with older children or adults only so he can get all the love and attention that was denied him in his previous life. He can be a nervous dog with too much commotion so a calm but active household would do well for his mental health. As a single's companion he would be a most loving and loyal companion.

Finn would do best with positive reinforcement as he is very enthusiastic and willing to please his people. He can be a bit nervous in strange situations but is never nasty or surly. He needs reassurance from his person and someone that will not baby him or feed into his insecurities. He needs someone that will continue to work on building his confidence. Finn is both house and crate trained but would prefer to be left uncrated and if lucky enough, able to sleep with his person. He does pick things up quickly however he can at times have a bit of selective hearing. He does however want to please so lots of positive praise is the best way to handle him. Finn is a true little companion dog and in the right environment he will prove himself as an amusing, loving and loyal pet.

If you think Finn would be a good choice for your family, please go to our website at uglymutts.com and submit an application for consideration.
