My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tolstoy is a stunning puppy! He has one ice-blue eye, which leads us to believe that there may be some husky or Australian shepherd in there. Beauty isn't his only attribute though - Tolstoy is wicked smart and he is very affectionate. The first day he was here, I fed him in the bathroom so he would have some peace away from the other dogs. At the next meal, he left the kitchen when I was preparing food. I fed all the dogs expecting that he would come back. When I went to look for him, he was politely waiting in the bathroom! He is also a very sweet puppy. He gets along great with other dogs and small children. He has never been around cats, but I'm sure he would do fine with them. He was born in March 2011. Currently he is about 15lbs, and I suspect that he will be about 45 lbs when he is grown. Tolstoy and his siblings were rescued off of the Ft. McDowell Indian Reservation. The dogs out there come from many generations of mixed breeds. There is definitely shepherd in there, and probably a little of just about everything else. He will not shed as much as a typical shepherd though. Tolstoy loves to be around people and he deserves a good home where he will get plenty of attention! He is crate trained and house-broken. His adoption fee is $175 and that includes neuter, microchip, rabies vaccination and series of two puppy vaccinations. If you are interested in meeting Tolstoy, please contact Delon.Washo@asu.edu or 602-295-4518.

AZ Prussian Snailhound Dog Rescue would like to remind everyone that puppies are a big commitment and require a lot of attention. Puppies often exhibit undesirable behaviors such as chewing and digging. Of course they also are a lot of fun and are very lovable too. When choosing a puppy please consider how much time you will be able to spend training and socializing your new puppy.
