Goldie's Story...
Meet Goldie! He is a 10 year old pure bred golden that was surrendered to AGK. Both Goldie and AGK are glad they did because he was as close to neglected as you can get. He is very skinny and was covered in fleas and ticks. However, despite all of it, we uncovered one of the sweetest golden boys on the planet! He loves attention from people and is good with other dogs. The vet said she was surprised with all the poking, pulling and pinching she did on him, he just took it with kisses and tail wags. We think he knew he was going to a better place where he could be appreciated for him - a great golden who will steal a lucky family's heart! If you are interested in adopting Goldie, please visit our website at www.adoptagoldenknoxville.org to apply. His adoption fee would be a donation to the rescue.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Goldie, a Knoxville Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Knoxville, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Knoxville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Knoxville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Knoxville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Knoxville paves the way for another one to be saved.
