Sarge's Story...
Sarge is a five year old, gorgeous pure bred male. He has the famous bloodhound bump on his nose and his coat is a gorgeous, bright, Irish Setter red. Sarge was given up because his people couldn’t afford dog food, so he came into rescue way too skinny. He’s working on bulking up his physique, and will be over 100 lbs when he’s at his ideal weight. He’s up to date on shots, heartworm negative, great with other dogs and is the sweetest boy ever! He loves to be hugged and kissed and given any kind of love. He loves to walk on a leash or hang out in the house or yard. He follows the action in the household and yard, and is alert but tends to his people to be sure he knows where they are. Sarge has a booming voice, and he’ll speak up if he needs to be heard. His attention span will be derailed by a passing cat, since he’s unfamiliar with them, and he thinks they’re really cool. He’ll get used to cats…it will just take some exposure. Otherwise he has excellent house manners and is eager to obey and please. If you want a huggable, sweet boy, Sarge is the guy for you. He’s being fostered in Riverview, FL.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sarge, a Carrollton Bloodhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Bloodhound for sale in Carrollton, or seeking a Bloodhound dog from a breeder in Carrollton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Carrollton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Carrollton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Bloodhound breeders who help with Bloodhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Carrollton paves the way for another one to be saved.
