David's Story...
If you adopted David today and tomorrow everybody disappeared off the face of the earth, you would never be lonely because David would talk to you all day long and keep you company 24/7! He will make you the center of his universe! Wherever you are, that's where he wants to be! This long, lanky, handsome boy is about two years old and he is not shy -- he has much to say! We're not really sure WHAT he is saying, but one thing we do know... he isn't very crazy about the other kitties. Maybe one other one would be all right, but not 30 or 40. But can you blame him? He is so devoted, he just doesn't want to share! This poor boy needs something good to happen in his life... first, abandoned; then he got an infection in his left rear leg that would not respond to antibiotics, necessitating amputation. He is still sweet, even as he struggles to be nimble again minus his leg. He truly deserves a good home, a quiet one with lots of love! If you're looking for a kitty to keep you company, contact us today to meet David, your one and only! 10/25/11

Rescue Group Info...

About Our Rescue Group...
Kopy Kat is comprised of a group of women who love cats and are saddened by the plight of strays, ferals, and the unpunished abuse of housepets. We use our own money and receive no additional help to care for our kitties. Many of our cats were deemed unadoptable by other shelters because they are too shy, but we have many friendly ones too. We are beyond our planned capacity and cannot take in additional pets because, although it deeply distresses us, overcrowding will jeopardize the health of all of them and serve no good purpose. We can direct you to area organizations if you need trapping or spay/neuter assistance.
Come Meet Our Pets...
Our kitties are in foster homes and we will be happy to arrange an appointment for you to meet them! Just email us at kopykatsanctuary@yahoo.com ALSO, you can see some of our kitties in person at Monroeville PetCo! ANNUAL ALL-U-CAN-EAT SPAGHETTI DINNER FUNDRAISER will be held on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 27, 2012, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., at HOLY ANGELS CHURCH, 201 CALDWELL STREET, WILMERDING! ADULTS: $8, CHILDREN: $5. Raffles, great chinese auction baskets, fur-real home-made baked goods to augment your dinner or take home! ALL proceeds go to our trap-neuter-release operations! DON'T MISS THIS GREAT TIME!!!!
Our Adoption Process...
Adoption donations are $75 for cats and kittens unless otherwise stated - depending on age and physical condition of the cat (some of our kitties are "Special Needs" cats which may need particular care or go to a specific home environment.) A standard adoption application and agreement must be completed. Most importantly is to have a vet reference so we know the kitty will get essential annual and emergency care. A plastic cat carrier must be brought along when you pick up your new friend. For your and its safety, we do not allow them to be carried out in arms.
We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
Adoptions limited to a 50-mile radius of Delmont, PA allow us to follow-up, if necessary, on our adopted felines. Also, since our adoption contract stipulates you can return the pet at any time, for any reason, so that we always know the cat is safe, that travel area helps insure our pets are returned to the Sanctuary rather than dumped at a strange or kill shelter. We just want our kitties to be safe for the rest of their lives!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

David, a Delmont Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Delmont, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Delmont.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Delmont already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Delmont breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Delmont paves the way for another one to be saved.
