My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

From George's foster mom: George is a very shy and quiet boy. He has been neutered and seems to be housetrained. Since he is so shy, we have left him baby-gated in the kitchen with the oldest resident dog this week instead of trying to crate him when we have been at work.

Right now George gobbles his food as if it's his last meal. He does take treats very gently. He has shown no interest in the resident cats. George plays well with his foster brother Snoopy, but he doesn't seem to know how to play with toys. Also, he seems afraid of a flight of stairs. He has gone down the stairs very slowly and has only gone up with guidance.

George loves to snuggle on the couch with his people. This sweet, shy boy just needs a loving and patient Forever Family to show him that the world is not a such a scary place after all, and life can be full of fun!

UPDATE, 7/11/11: We are very pleased to report that George has mastered going up and down a flight of stairs! Day by day he blossoms. He has discovered that some toys squeak and that others must be shredded, so he's really getting the hang of being a dog!

Please note that an approved adoption application is the first step in a more thorough interview process that is designed to match each dog to exactly the right family, and that the final decision rests with the dog's case manager.

Please read the Adoption FAQ and get an Adoption Application approved before inquiring about George.
