Hamilton's Story...
Hamilton is a sweet male Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix. He was born about 5/26/11. He is up to date on shots, is on heartworm prevention and will be neutered prior to adoption. He is good with dogs, cats, and kids. Hamilton was left outside the gates of a high kill animal shelter in a rubbermaid container with his siblings. Through no fault of his own Hamilton is in need of a home at this young age, let's hope whomever owned him and his siblings got their mother spayed so she won't have anymore unwanted litters. Can you give Hamilton the great life he deserves?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hamilton, a Baton Rouge Australian Shepherd/Border Collie puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd/Border Collie for sale in Baton Rouge, or seeking a Australian Shepherd/Border Collie puppy from a breeder in Baton Rouge.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Baton Rouge already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Baton Rouge breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd/Border Collie breeders who help with Australian Shepherd/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Baton Rouge paves the way for another one to be saved.
