My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Abby is being courtesy posted....she is currently in a temporary foster home since her owner passed away....please contact Sharon at jesdin3@hotmail.com or Debbi at debbit74@sbcglobal.net for information on Abby or adopting her**

Abby is approximately 5 years old, she was found as a stray a couple years ago, and the vet said she was 2-3 years old at the time. She's small in stature, with a thick undercoat. She's very sweet and affectionate. Loves men, kids, and is very playful with other dogs, but can be dominant at times, which can be tense if there are two dominant females. She seems to get along well with male dogs. She doesn't mind my cat at all. Abby likes to sleep under the bed, and loves to get in the bathtub. She can be a typical Husky at times, liking to find a way out of the yard, so it's important that the yard be very secure. She is housebroken, but initally has marked places where she's smelled other dogs. As far as I've seen, she has only done that the first day or two, and has not done it any more in the time she has been with me. Her former owner crated her in a wire cage.
Abby does have separation anxiety that seems to present itself in an only dog situation. She has tried to scratch or bite through the door to be with someone, and has gotten herself worked up enough to flip her sky crate at a different fosters house. As with all Huskies, if left alone and unsupervised with no outlet for her energy, she can find things to get into. She's been fine for a couple hours loose in the house at my home, as the other dogs have kept her company.
Abby's owner passed away last week, after several weeks in the hospital. Prior to that, she was in the care of her owner's nephew while her owner was undergoing chemotherapy. Unfortunately, she did not get the attention or care there, so other arrangements were made for her. She did not show anxiety behaviors prior to her owner becoming ill.

Abby is up to date on vaccines, current on heartworm prevention and spayed. She's a super sweet dog. The ideal home for Abby would be someone who is home with her a lot, or a home with another male dog. I'm confident that Abby will adjust well with the right attention and love.

Contact Sharon at jesdin3@hotmail.com or Debbi at debbit74@sbcglobal.net for information if you would like to make Abby a part of your family.
