My name is Castle. I was rescued by HFHAF when I was still a puppy. Someone abandoned me out in the country and my owners could not be found. Everyone who meets me can't stop professing what a handsome, loving, sweet good boy I am. At the same time, I am athletic and fun. I like to fetch balls, give kisses, and hike with my guardians and their other dogs. I am about 3 years old, weigh 55 pounds and I am house-trained and doggy door trained. I always behave myself when I am inside the house when no one is home. I will never ruin your shoes or go through the garbage. I am not sure what breeds I am mixed with so what is listed here is just a guess. I could be Pointer, Dalmation, Pit, Labrador etc. Cuddling, napping in cool spots and getting belly rubs are some of my favorite activities. My guardian has taught me some commands using hand signals to accommodate my needs. Yes, I am a deaf boy from birth so I am a very sound sleeper. Do you like to play loud music at all hours? Go ahead, it won't bother me a bit. Nonetheless, I am extremely smart and loyal! I know sit, stay & down, and he's working on the 'Come' and the 'Leave it' commands. In addition to lots of love, patience, and time, my guardian gives me healthy treats like organic sweet potatoes and lamb & rice. I will do best with a family who truly loves and understands dogs. I have been around cats before but I may take time to adjust to cats in a new environment so just to be safe I prefer a home with no cats. The family must be willing to work with me and love me unconditionally. I am great with children and non-aggressive family dogs. My guardian doesn't take me to the dog park often, because some dogs don't like me. However, I get to go on long walks during the week and the river or the hiking trails on the weekends with my doggy friends of which I have many. I prefer going to a new home with another dog who can hear because I will bond to that dog and learn to follow his/her lead. I have been around all kinds of male and female dogs, large and small. I need daily excercise because I am a very active guy when I am outside but when i'm in the house I tend to lie around and be lazy. I would prefer to go to a family who will take me places and on walks on a regular basis. I appreciate my daily exercise and the time I have to bond with my guardian. I can bond with you, too! Because the people at Humanity for Healthy Animals Foundation love me so much, they want me to go to the best possible home. I must be allowed to be inside your house when you are home and to sleep at night. I am not a backyard only dog. I want to be a member of your family.
All of our adoptable animal companions are in foster homes. If you would like to meet this pet please email firstname.lastname@example.org to make an appointment. Our adoption process invloves filling out an application and a mandatory home visit. If you live out of town, we can still arrange a home visit. We would like to ensure that this pet will be a good fit for your family. If you would like to volunteer to be a foster caregiver for our animals HFHAF will pay for all veterinary care and dog food.

Humanity for Healthy Animals Foundation (HFHAF) is an animal welfare charitable non-profit organization, Tax ID # 45-0678079. Although we can accept donations, host fund-raising events, and apply for grants, we are waiting for our 501(c) 3 application to be reviewed and approved. The Humanity for Healthy Animals Foundation’s mission is to promote the humane treatment of all animal companions, and to reduce the number of homeless animal companions in the City of Fresno.
1. To promote the health and well-being of the City of Fresno’s animal companions, HFHAF will provide educational assistance to its residents on how to keep their animal companions healthy and safe.
2. To initiate and support various health-focused activities and/or projects.
3. To help reduce the number of homeless animal companions at our overcrowded local shelters, HFHAF will promote foster and volunteer programs that are already in place at local rescue groups. We will seek assistance from reputable low-kill rescue organizations statewide and surrounding states.
4. To help address the dog and cat overpopulation problem in the City of Fresno, HFHAF will partner with local veterinarians to promote subsidized spay and neuter, vaccinations, and micro-chipping.
We exist to help relieve the pressure on our local animal shelters by providing the general public with information and resources to ensure their animal companions are properly cared for.
HFHAF was established to help address the animal welfare issues in the San Joaquin Valley of California. Given that we are a brand new organization, our current resources will be focused primarily on serving the residents of the City of Fresno and their animal companions. Our long-term goal is to extend our services to the surrounding cities in Fresno County and beyond. Therefore, our programs and services will be offered in phases.
Fees depend on whether animal is already spayed or neutered. Application and contract must be filled out and singed. Home visit required. Pet must be adopted as part of the family. No outside only animals are adopted out.
