Mr. Bump Magoo is an older guy, who is blind and was found stray in Shelby County by a lady who kept him a few days. We took him in, to avoid going to the local animal control as they may have just put him to sleep. He is an older beagle mix, has Cushings which is controlled by medication we pay for, and is blind. He is great with people and loves children. Being blind he reacts by growling when he feels threatened though by aggressive in your face kind of dogs so he should be the only dog or with one that is friendly and non threatening. He was fine with another blind dog and some smaller friendly dogs at a dog daycare we use. He loves his crate, he uses it as his safe place and naps there with the door open. He would have to always have his crate set up and available to him and we will provide that. If you are interested in fostering or better yet adopting him email us at vhall67@comcast.net. If not, you can always share and we appreciate it. He is completely house trained!
Contact Mindy at mmiller@beaglebuddies.org to obtain an application. Submit the application form and we will schedule a time to meet the pet. If interested in adopting we require a home visit and an adoption agreement with a fee. Beagles over 5 years of age have an adoption of $100 and if younger than 5 years the fee is $125. All dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption, are up to date on vaccinations, and a copy of vet records is provided upon adoption to set up a file at your vet. We supply collar, temporary ID tag until you can use till you get one, and leash. All beagles are micro-chipped as well.
