My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Oakley was brought in to the shelter by the police. His crime - associating with a known felon. To be fair, he didn't really have a choice in the matter. His owner was arrested, so Oakley was impounded as there was no one in the home to care for him. After three weeks in the shelter when he still hadn't been reclaimed, rescue was asked to take him.

Oakley is a mystery. He looks and acts like a very, very young dog, but his teeth would indicate he is older. ("He's got the cutest little babyface" applies to him). We are not sure if had a bad diet and actually is very young or if he he has just aged extremely well. (Maybe he had some excellent plastic surgery or even botox to keep him looking youthful.)

Oakley is a little shaken by having his world turned upside down and is still a bit of a crybaby (did we mention he acts very, very young?). He readily defers to all of the doxies in his foster home and merely cries if they get snarky with him.

Oakley needs a home with no children and with a firm pack leader. If Oakley thinks he is the one in charge, it makes him nervous and scared.

Oakley would like a home with a person around most of the time or a canine
buddy to give him courage. He absolutely goes bonkers at the sight of the leash and adores getting out and about. He has a very silly bark - he sounds like a seal, not a dog.

Oakley is neutered and vaccinated. He is learning to accept being crated at night. His tax deductible adoption fee is $200. Adoption application available at www.scdr.org
