My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Do you love the life of the party kind of pup? Well meet Eddy! With his leggy build, silky coat, and flashy markings, tricolored Eddy is quite the looker. This oh-so-likeable guy can also turn on the charm and make your heart melt, or bat those beautiful dark brown eyes at you and you won’t be able to resist him! Eddy is not just a good looking guy either, he’s got an outstanding personality to go with it. Optimistic, agreeable, lighthearted and very well-adjusted, barely year old Eddy is a total catch!

Rescued from a shelter in Idaho, we know nothing of his past, yet who even cares as he’s already put it behind him. After spending a month or two at the shelter, where he landed after being picked up as a stray, Eddy rolled into WBCR and never looked back. He’s also never met a stranger and thinks humans are the coolest! He loves to bury his head into people and cuddle. Of course, other dogs are also fantastic, and Eddy greets any and all with glee, ready to play! This silly boy can find the fun in just about anything…he especially loves chasing water and when the sprinklers come on at his foster home - eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek!!!!! - its like Disney World; soooo many sprinklers to chase, sooo much fun!  Eddy also loves toys, and you can bet that whatever he is up to, it will be with a toy in his mouth.  He loves to race about with his foster sister, joined at the mouth via a toy, for hours on end!. He walks around the house with a toy in his mouth too - really the only time he doesn’t have one is when he is eating. He even tries drinking water with the toy in his mouth!! So many toys, so little time…given his affinity for holding things in his mouth Eddy shows great potential for being a fetcher, but would right now much rather play keep away!! He does show some herdyness, especially with his foster sister out on walks, but we think he could likely live with dog-savvy cats. Despite his people-loving ways, given his exuberance and size, Eddy is not suitable to homes with little kids. Eddy is definitely a higher energy lad and will need a good chunk of exercise and/or lots of play time every day to be happiest. However, once his needs have been met he happily settles down in the house.

All this and brains too? You betcha! Despite his interest in and curiosity about the world, he's also quite an attentive, people-focused kid and he is a joy to train. We think Eddy will really benefit from adopters willing to take him to a basic manners class and suspect he will be the star student! Meanwhile, Eddy is learning all kinds of things very quickly in his foster home. He’s taken to the crate, is almost housetrained, and is getting the hang of walking on a leash nicely. He shows great potential for off-leash privileges and is now familiar with the basics like sitting too! With a little more education, and just a smidge in the way of setting boundaries and guidelines, agreeable Eddy is sure to shape up to be a fabulously well-mannered canine friend.

All in all, Eddy is a superstar of a dog and given his wonderful disposition, is suitable to lots of different kinds of homes. He is sure to bring years of delight, laughter, and companionship to whoever is lucky enough to make him their own. If you are looking for a “glass half full” kind of young chap who is bursting with character AND potential, Eddy may be the fella for you!

Eddy is neutered, fully vetted and living in a loving foster home near Jackson, WY.
