Chessie Belle's Info...
| Breed: | Chihuahua Mix | Color: | Tan/Yellow/Fawn | Age: | Adult |
| Size: | Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less | Sex: | Female |
I am already spayed, housetrained, in need of an experienced adopter, and up to date with shots.
Meet our Chessie Belle. She has been in our rescue since June 2011. This girl is very shy. She weighs 9 pounds. She is fawn colored and about 3 years old.
Her history as we know it: she belonged to a terminally ill woman who lived alone in the country. The dogs were only used to her. Hospice asked us to take the dogs since they were afraid the dogs might pull her feeding tube out, accidentally. We took 4 dogs, but this little girl was the only fearful one. She has never been around children, and seems very fearful of men.
She was moved into a new foster home in January 2013, since she had made no progress; she always stayed just out of reach, and wouldn't let anyone pick her up. Her new foster mom is working with her to socialize her and build confidence, and she is coming along wonderfully, but she will still need an experienced and patient adopter who would like to help her experience the world, and learn that it is not so frightening.
Our adoption fee is $150.00, but is negotiable to the right family. She loves to go outside so we will require securely fenced yard.

Rescue Group Info...
I started this rescue so that dogs that were unwanted or homeless or neglected, would have a chance at a good life in a loving "forever home".
I am the proud ower of three Chihuahuas, myself!
All of the foster moms are also Chihuahua lovers and have Chihuahuas too. They are knowledgeable about the breed and take this work very seriously.
They recieve No pay for this work, they open their homes to the dogs in need, and are glad to do it.
NO ONE IN THIS ORGANIZATION RECIEVES ANY PAYMENT. WE DO THIS FOR THE LOVE OF THE DOGS!
Mail to above address, or pay by paypal. https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_flow&SESSION=Jba5xC60MfZD2RDS4ZZZufDg2jdZKqY-ScCUQgsjhxOzZRrmeZMh1VPHeXq&dispatch=5885d80a13c0db1f8e263663d3faee8d5fa8ff279e37c3d9d4e38bdbee0ede69
We do adoption outreaches every Saturday, and can usually be found at Petsmart, Petco, and some of the community events. Our schedule can be found on our website. www.becauseofyourescue.org
Our dogs normally adopt for $150.00 except for the seniors or special needs dogs. They are normally $100.00
We have an application, and then we check references, and we also do home visit. Our adoption contract states that if they should no longer be able to care for the dog, it MUST be returned to our rescue.
We do not adopt to families with children uner the age of 10 years old. And we require a securely fenced yard and this will be inspected at time of home visit.
All other pets in the home must be spayed/ neutered.
Our dogs must live indoors.....
We are a 501-c3 non profit rescue group. We are in-corperated in the State of Okla. We are a spay/neuter rescue. No dogs are adopted previous to all vet work being done.
We are not trying to adopt out the most dogs, we want to be the BEST rescue, and do more vet work than most groups to provide our dogs with the best chance at a long healhty life.....
our normal vet work is spay/neuter, vaccines, heartworm tests, complete wellness exam, worming, dental cleaning and microchipping. We also do heartworm treatment, knee surgeries, cherry eye repair, hernia repair, cancer treatment, eye removal if necessary, toe nail surgeries, brokoen bone repair, ANYTHING needed........
We get our dogs from owner surrenders, strays, city aminal shelters, breeders, vets offices etc.
Our dogs do not live in a kennel situation, but as our pets in foster homes. This gives the dogs the best temperary home, and we get to know the dogs temperments, and etc. Thereby helping adoptive familes to make the right choice for their livestyle. Which cuts down on the number of dogs returned....
We do application, references checks, home visit, and an adoption contract. Then we have a follow up program in order to keep in touch with how the dog is doing.
