My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATE: On January 15th Kiko had his long awaited for appointment with the doggie opthamologist and the news wasn't as we had hoped. Kiko is totally blind and surely has been since birth. There is no "cure" for his condition His eyes turn slightly outward - suggesting to us that it was only strabismus - because he's never had to focus on anything so there is no muscle tone. But he's adjusted so amazingly well that even his foster family has been unaware that his vision was anymore than just slightly "off." It's said that "blind dogs see with their hearts," and in Kiko's case that is absolutely true! For more information on living with a blind dog go to http://blinddogs.net/ .

Hi, my name is Kiko and I am looking for a forever family. I am a male, Japanese-Chin mix (Pekingese?)and I weigh 12 lbs. I am between 1 and 1-1/2 years old and was rescued from a shelter. Even though I am visually impaired, I get around like a champ. Nonetheless, I'm being scheduled for a visit with a doggie eye doctor to find out what can be done to make me see better - I promist to let ya'll know more after the visit. I love to play with the other pups in the house and I sleep with my foster brother.

Although my foster family said they didn’t want male fosters, I came in and quickly changed their minds with my wonderful disposition and spunky attitude. I love to ride in the car and am great on a leash.

I would be perfect with a senior citizen or a family with children. My foster mom says whoever adopts me will have to be very special, because I am a special little gift and deserve only the best.

I am currently fostering in Virginia and my asking adoption fee is $250. Do you have room for a special little guy in your life?
