Holli Marie's Story...
Holli Marie has a sad story to tell, you can see it in her eyes and her actions. This girl DESPERATELY needs a foster home!! She is an older dog and the shelter environment is NOT the place for her. This sweet girl has hip bones that are poking out and she is very frail. She is very calm and quiet. She has a beautiful cream colored coat. She is very smart, when out for a walk if you tell her it's time to go in, she starts going for the door. She loves to be petted and loves the outdoors. PLEASE help her find a foster ASAP!! She needs a chance to show that she is full of love, sad story or not, she would like to be given hope to move past it. Please help her find a better place to lay her head at night than a cold concrete floor. Thanks to the Shelby County No Kill Mission, this pet will be altered, vaccinated, wormed, heartworm tested and micro chipped prior to adoption.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Holli Marie, a Shelbyville Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Shelbyville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Shelbyville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Shelbyville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Shelbyville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Shelbyville paves the way for another one to be saved.
