Casper's Story...
Casper is just a great dog! He is young, probably about 1 - 1 1/2 years old. He is just a big puppy with some puppy energy left. With a lot of walks and exercise, he will be able to expend some of that energy. He is fun loving and just a sweet natured boy. He is house trained and crate trained so he is READY for his new home! He is great with other dogs and with cats. He would make a great house dog and would probably be an awesome couch potato, of course a lap dog too, he just wants to be near his people. Please help this boy find his forever home, he deserves it! Thanks to the Shelby County No Kill Mission, this pet has been/will be altered, vaccinated, wormed, heartworm tested and micro chipped prior to adoption.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Casper, a Shelbyville Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Shelbyville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Shelbyville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Shelbyville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Shelbyville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Shelbyville paves the way for another one to be saved.
