Sunny's Story...
Meet Sunny! She and her brother Shadow were released to AGK because their owner could not longer care for them. Sunny is extremely sweet, well mannered 8 year old pure bred golden female with a lot of love to give! She is house trained, crate trained, great on a leash and loves to ride in the car! And she oves everyone she sees! She and her brother Shadow are the reason why we love goldens! We would love to see Sunny and Shadow stay together because they have been together since puppyhood! Please note that they need to be the only dogs in the household. If you are interested in adopting the pair, please go to our website, www.adoptagoldenknoxville.org to fill out an application. AGK gives a discount on adoption feels for pair goldens.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sunny, a Salem Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Salem, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Salem.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Salem already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Salem breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Salem paves the way for another one to be saved.
