My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Updated Bio 07/18/11: Max is an adorable, 13 lb. yorkie who was rescued from a very neglectful home. He will turn 2 years old in August. Max is healthy, up-to-date on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped. He's cuddly, loving, enjoys taking walks and riding in the car. Best of all, Max is very SMART! He has come a long way in the 3 weeks he has been in our home. He is house trained, crate trained, and knows how to sit (all things he learned while he was here!). Max will need a fenced in backyard in his forever home so he can run and play freely. Max tends to bark around men, but does not bite. A little reassurance calms him down. Max likes the company of other dogs, but sometimes play too rough. A stern warning corrects this behavior. Max likes kids of all ages and is very gentle around them. Max longs for love, security, and a home to call his own. He will make a wonderful and loyal pet to your family, if you are willing to give him the attention and consistency that he needs to thrive.

Initial Bio 06/27/11: Max has arrived in IL as an owner surrender and we are so glad he is here! Max is a healthy little boy. He has been neutered and is up-to-date on all his shots. Max will turn 2 years old in August. He is a puppy in every way, except in size. He is tall, long, lean, and a very solid 13 lbs. Personally, this foster mom prefers her Yorkies on the larger side, especially with young children in the house. Max really gets along well with the children and he is okay with the other dogs, although it might be best if he was the only small dog. Max needs a family who can give him a lot of attention. He is very active and loves to play. Max is learning very quickly how to do his business outside, so a fenced in yard will be a requirement for adoption. Max is very smart and has already learned to sit on command, so training him to do other things should not be a problem. He is sweet, loves to cuddle, and enjoys being pet. Once Max finds his forever family and is secure within his new surroundings, he should transition from being a puppy into adulthood within months. Max deserves a wonderful life and just wants to be loved, so please fill out an adoption application if you think he is the one for you.
