Lady's Story...
Once again we have the nearly perfect dachshund looking for her loving forever home. Lady is a beautiful 16# English Cream longhaired dachshund. She is another casualty of our Country's economic challenges being displaced from the only home she has ever known. She is very aptly named. This is one very gentle, affectionate dachshund who can rough house with the boys too. Lady is working on getting her hour-glass figure back and will probably be there in about 2 pounds. She does very well on the leash, be warned though she does not power walk through her outings instead Lady chooses to stop and smell the roses if allowed. Lady meets adults, children and other dogs with ease. We were told she is good with cats, too. Lady is house trained and crate trained. Her crate door is usually open and sometimes she can be found enjoying the quiet security of the crate. Lady is enthusiastic about going for rides in the car. She does not like stairs and would rather be carried down them. Lady's ideal Colorado home will have a fenced yard and someone home more than gone. To meet this very sweet dachshund an online adoption application must be filled out. Lady is fully vetted including microchip. Her adoption fee is $150.00. The love and affection she will return is priceless.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lady, a Louisville Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Louisville, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Louisville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Louisville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Louisville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Louisville paves the way for another one to be saved.
